The oven is back in action

This has been a great summer. I’ve explored new parts of the city, gotten plenty of fresh air, managed to basically avoid sunburn, and consumed a lot (a lot) of rosé. But as soon as September landed, I happily pulled a sweatshirt of out my closet, bought a bottle of a bold red wine, and curled up under a blanket to watch a movie. (It doesn’t hurt that the weather in the city was dreary to kick off the month.)

 

After a summer where I avoided turning the oven on unless absolutely necessary, I’m planning on making a large pan of roasted potatoes for dinner. Roasted potatoes are a staple in my kitchen during the colder months. Tossed with olive oil, salt, and pepper – what could be easier? I love to top the potatoes with some parmesan cheese and serve with a fried egg.
